391 | Agnes Locklar Boyd Agnes Locklar Boyd was born on Nov. 13, 1911, in Navarro County and died on Nov. 11, 2007, in Dallas. She moved to Corsicana at an early age, graduated from Corsicana High School, and attended Mary Hardin Baylor College. Mrs. Boyd was an active member of First Baptist Church since 1924 and a member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class and the Solid Rockers Choir. She was a member of Kinsloe House Woman’s Club of Navarro County. She was married on June 26, 1937, to Fullwood Boyd, who preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 1985. Mrs. Boyd was also preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.D. Locklar of Corsicana; and brother, Bob Locklar of Waco.Survivors are her daughter, Brenda Ann Boyd, and son-in-law, George Gilliam, of Dallas; one brother, Orville Locklar of Corsicana; and a number of nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church. Officiating will be B.F. Risinger Jr. and the Rev. Jerry D. Godwin. His wonderful wife, Timer Boyd, had preceded him in death. He is survived by his son, Andy Boyd; daughter-in-law, Robin and grandchildren, Melinna and Jamie, all of Albuquerque; sister, Mary Ellen Grantham of Corsicana, TX, USA; and brothers, Zack W. Boyd of Corsicana, TX, USA and Walter L. Boyd of Waco, TX, USA. Until his retirement in 1982, he was a partner in, and President of, Arrow Freightways, Inc. He had also been President of the Albuquerque Country Club, the West Texas-New Mexico Seniors Golf Association, New Mexico Seniors Golf Association, and the New Mexico Motor Carriers Association. He was a member of the Albuquerque Country Club for 40 years and was an ardent lover of the game of golf. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force in World War II and was a member of Ballut Abyad Shrine, Temple Lodge #6 and The Jesters. 399 | Alfred Wayne McMillin Date of Death - March 21, 2005 Alfred Wayne McMillin of Burlison died at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Tipton. Mr. McMillin, 82, was the owner of Memphis Emport Company. He was an army veteran of World War II serving in the anti-aircraft division. He was a member of New Salem Methodist Church and a supporter of the World Children's Fund, Feed the Children and St. Jude. Services were March 23 at Munford Funeral Home chapel. Burial was in Covington Memorial Gardens. He lived in Alice for 35 years before moving to Beaumont. He was a retired salesman for J. C. Penney after serving 35 years, and hge was a U.S. Army veteran of the World War II. Survivors include his wife, Pearl Boyd of Beaumont; one son, George Nolan Boyd of San Antonio; two daughters, Betty Boyd Storms of Aurora, Colo., and Linda Pearl Boyd Sparkman of Beaumont; four brothers, James Jarrell "Dub" Boyd of Amarillo, Robert Lee Boyd of Eureka, Austin Walker Boyd of Sisterville, W.V., and Wallis Moffat Boyd of Bradenton, Fla.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 5, at St. Andrews Presbyterian. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 6, at St. Andrew Presbyterian with burial to follow in the Eureka Cemetery in Eureka.
