William H. Cabell & Agnes Belle Gamble. He and his wife first moved to Staunton where he practiced law but in 1828 he & Emma moved to a cottage on his inherited land and built "Ridgeway". In addition to the service of the sons, they supported the war effort through the purchase of bonds and the supply of material and labor. Emma and her daughter, Adaline Mayo Carrington, managed to retain the 1174 acre "Ridgeway" after the death of Paul in 1866 and managed it up until Emma's 1887 death. Their children were: Isaac Howell, Robert Gamble, William Allen (M.D.), Abram Cabell, Alexander Broadnax (Reverend), Edgar Wirt, Louisa Cabell and Adaline Mayo. | CARRINGTON, Paul Sydenham (I6882)
