Text	Lillian Camille Baxter Whitley, 75, of Cordova, died Wednesday, June 21, 2017, in Memphis. She was a member of Covington First United Methodist Church and a 1960 graduate of Byars Hall High School. As the Covington Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, she was instrumental in growing the industrial and economic employment opportunities in Covington and Tipton County. The wife of Walter H. Whitley, she also leaves her daughters, Elizabeth (Kent) Libbey of Palo Alto, CA and Christine W. Strickland of Cordova; a son, Richard (Michelle) Whitley of Collierville; a sister, Janie (Rip) Carloss of Memphis; and her grandchldren, William B. Strickland, Gavin M. Libbey, Hayden A. Libbey, Caroline J. Whitley, and Emmy L. Whitley. She was preceded in death by a sister, Kim Baxter Henley; and her parents, Richard Aubrey Baxter, Jr. and Virginia Black Baxter. Visitation will be 1-3PM Saturday, June 24, with memorial services officiated by Rev. Dan Camp at 3PM, all at Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Covington First United Methodist Church; Memphis Botanic Garden, 750 Cherry Rd., Memphis, TN 38117; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
