Simpson, 77, retired educator, died of a brain aneurysm Saturday at the Memphis Veterans Medical Center. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Highland Baptist Church in Senatobia with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Independence, Miss. C. O. Pate Funeral Home in Senatobia has charge. He was a member of Senatobia First Baptist Church and was a World War II Army veteran. He leaves a daughter, Betsy Ann Eason of Jackson; three sons, Edwin W. Simpson Jr. of Collierville, Tenn., Vernon Lowrey Simpson of Lake Cormorant and Timothy D. Simpson of Coldwater; a brother, George F. Simpson Jr. of Pensacola, Fla., and 10 grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to Highland Baptist Church or the Veterans Administration.
