- Clyde E., Jr., 63, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 4, 1996. He was a man of great honesty and integrity who deeply loved his family. Born on April 10, 1933, in Luther, Oklahoma, to Clyde and Hazel Dowell. He attended Oklahoma A&M where he played football and was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. A lifelong member of the Disciples of Christ Church, he was a past elder, deacon, board chairman and choir member of First Christian Church, Edmond, Oklahoma. After a long career at AT&T Technologies, he enjoyed his grandchildren, camping and following Oklahoma State University sports during his retirement. Clyde was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Dowell Best; sister, Joan; and grandmother, Ethel F. Dowell. He is survived by his wife, Doris Dowell; three sons and their wives, Garry and Martina Dowell, Larry and Shari Dowell, and Clyde E. and Crystal Dowell, IV; father and step-mother, Clyde E. and Marie Dowell, Sr.; brother and wife, Bob and Peggy Dowell; and five grandchildren, Ashley, Madison, Matthew, Sarah, and Lauren Dowell.
