Services for Mary Frances Haynie Shaw, 84, of Toccoa, Ga., who died Sunday, Dec. 5, 1999, at Stephens County Hospital, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ebenezer Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry King officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Natchez under the direction of Whitlock Mortuary in Toccoa. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Whitlock Mortuary.
Mrs. Shaw was born May 14, 1915, in Blue Mountain, daughter of Mark Lowery Haynie Sr. and Mattie Mitchell Haynie.
She was a retired teacher and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and its Dorcas Sunday School class, the 220 Fellowship, the Singing Saints and the Ladies Prayer Group. She was also a former member of the Natchez Garden Club and a former pianist at First Baptist Church of Vidalia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Mark L. Haynie Sr., and two sisters, Martha Louise Haynie and Willena Haynie.
Survivors include one son and his wife, Billy and Patsy Shaw of Toccoa; one daughter and her husband, Mary Elizabeth and Jim Blakeney of Fairview, Tenn.; six granddaughters, Shawn Lee, Avent Gibson, Jamie Blakeney, Cindy Matthews, Cathy Thornton and Cheryl Henderson; six great-grandchildren; and one nephew, Mark Haynie of Missouri.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to the Ebenezer Baptist Church Building Fund.
