  Died in Lincoln, Ark., November 14, 1886, Robt. R. Boyd, son of Robt. Boyd, Jr. and E. A. Boyd, aged 35 years. And also dead, Robert Banks Boyd, infant son … on the 13th of November. Age about 10 months. Mr. Boyd was born in Chester County, S. C. and reared under the Christian influence of the Pleasant Grove church. Though he had never joined any church and came to Arkansas in 1871, I [Rev. J. P. Erwin] learned from his intimate acquaintances he never forgot some moral precepts learned in his youth and the fond mother who had taught him. His word was his bond and he was honored and esteemed as a citizen. In the lingering disease [flux] that killed him and his child, he longed to see his mother. [3]
