  Graveside services for Ellen P. Ellett, 81, of Tyler are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007 at Cathedral in the Pines, with Rev. Marty Dunbar officiating. Burial is under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home. She passed away Monday, Dec. 10, 2007 at The Hospice of East Texas with her children by her side. Mrs. Ellett was born to the late Russell Albritton Purifoy and Nora Boyd Purifoy Feb. 17, 1926 in Corsicana. She was a homemaker, a member of the Noonday Baptist Church, a member and past president of Green Acres Garden Club, DAR, and the East Texas Quilters Guild. She has lived in Tyler for 47 years. She was preceded in death by her husband James N. “Sonny” Ellett; a brother, Russell Purifoy Jr.; a sister, Helen Purifoy and a grandson Wayne Kesecker. She is survived by her son, James N. Ellett Jr. of Mountain View, CA, USA; daughters, Sue Green of Tyler and Claire Leifer and husband Leonard of Tyler; grandchildren, Ty Green and wife Jordan of Shreveport, La., Lori Leifer of Shreveport, La., Cody Leifer of Tyler, Libby Leifer Ferguson and husband Michael of Fayetteville, Ark.; sister, Jeanette Skelton of Calendar Lake; numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1301 S. Broadway, Tyler, Texas 75701; Alzheimer’s Alliance of Northeast Texas, Inc., 211 Winchester, Tyler, Texas 75703; or The Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd, Tyler, Texas 75701.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
