Visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011, at Corley Funeral Home. Service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, at the Corley Funeral Home Chapel. September 15, 2011 Mary Ellen Boyd Grantham Corsicana Daily Sun Mary Ellen Boyd Grantham, 94, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, at Twilight Nursing home in Corsicana. She was born July 2, 1917, at Eureka to John and Bertha Boyd. She graduated from Mildred High School and went to business college in Dallas. She married Herbert Grantham. She worked as a bookkeeper at the Draft board, Ed M. Polk Insurance, Northern Propane Gas Company, and Wolf Brand Chili Company. After she retired, she worked as a volunteer at Navarro Regional Hospital as a “pink lady.” She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Mary had no children, but she loved a very large extended family. She loved to cook and each Thursday at Mary’s became a tradition with many family members as they dropped by to eat at lunch. She was preceded in death by husband, Herbert Grantham; parents, John and Bertha Boyd; brothers, Olif Boyd, Zach Boyd, and Johnny Boyd; and sisters, Ethylene Boyd Grantham and Doris Boyd Ratliff. Survivors include a brother, Walter Boyd of Waco; nieces and nephews, Andy Boyd, Robbie Thorpe, Bobby Grantham, Shirley Cohen, Bonnie Grantham, Parker Boyd, Mark Boyd, Bret Boyd, Glenn Ratliff, Rodney Ratliff, Carolyn Downing, Cathy Edwards, Tommy Boyd, David Boyd and Jay Boyd; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation with the family will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011, at Corley Funeral Home. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, at Corley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Darla Blatnik officiating. Interment will follow at Eureka Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews. Memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church at 312 N. 13th, Corsicana, Texas 75110, or Eureka Cemetery Association, c/o Jerrell Gregory, 400 SE CR 3020, Corsicana, Texas 75110.
