Byrne-Field Endowment Fund

The Byrne-Field Endowment Fund was established in 1986 by Fred M. and Katie Bush to honor the memory of Mrs. Bush’s parents, Matilda Catherine Byrne and Jennings Pemble Field. The endowment provides annual merit awards to one eleventh or twelfth grade student from each of the public high schools in Lee County and Tupelo. Mrs. Bush said, “We want to honor students who might go unrecognized for what they have attained in spite of difficult circumstances.”
