Born February 3, 1906 (Saturday) at Natchitoches, Louisiana. Died of stomach cancer February 11, 1982 at the home of her daughter in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and is buried in Memory Lawn Cemetery at Natchitoches, Louisiana. Prior to her marriage, she worked at De Vargas Jewelry. Later, she was employed, seasonally, at Aldredge Brothers Jewelry. Both businesses were located in Natchitoches. She hated her name for years because, “Papa told me I was named after one of his old girlfriends”. After she was grown she found out that Lucille was the name of a little girl on the plantation where he had worked as Overseer as a young man. [2]
