He was born December 14, 1912 at Rock Springs, Arkansas a son of the late Garland Winningham and Bell Mitchell Winningham. He was a retired farmer, a World War II U S Army Veteran and a member of Enon Missionary Baptist Church. Surviving is a son Roger Winningham and spouse Cathy, Fordyce, Ark; 5 grandchildren Shelly Davis, Kelly Adair and Robin Barton all of Rye, Ark, Scotty Winningham Bauxite, Ark. and Angie McGaha, Hermitage, Ark; 6 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren. Graveside services were 10:00am Saturday, August 12, at Rock Springs Cemetery by Rev. George Raley. Jerry Vickers sang. Boyd, 73 years old, for many years a resident of the Eureka community, this county, died at his home there at 6 o'clock yesterday morning after an illness of two weeks. The funeral took place this afternoon at 3 o'clock with burial in the Eureka community. The Rev. W. L. Patterson and the Rev. J. M. White conducted the service. He is survived by the following grown children: Mrs. J. B. Grantham, Mrs. F. V. He was 83. Roy was a LSU alumni and avid LSU sports fan. He served his country in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was a devoted father to his children and will be greatly missed by them. He is survived by his son, Roy "Chip" Lang Weil III of Baton Rouge; daughter, Sue Haney and husband Gary, of Baton Rouge; son, Michael Weil, of Corpus Christi, Texas; and daughter, Sheri Weil, of Baton Rouge. Preceded in death by his wife, Dolores "Smokey" Weil; parents, Roy Weil Sr., and Katherine Weil; and sisters, Patricia Dittoe and Katherine Airhart. A memorial visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Wednesday, April 20, from 10 a.m. to noon. The family would like to send a special thanks to his physicians, Elder Care, and Piggy Solomon for their exceptional care.
