Text | Dr. Warren Boyd Gaw, Greenvtte, S.C 1 VMan Nurse, Rochester, N.Y. Dr. Warren Boyd Gaw GREENVILLE Dr. Warren Boyd Gaw. 80. husband of Catherine Sevier Gaw, of 210 Robin Lane, died Dec. 24, 1998. Born in Stuarts Draft, Va., he was a son of the late Harry Goodwin and Dr. Lois Boyd Gaw. He received a B-A. from Davidson College, the Master of Divinity from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and the Doctor of Divinity from Davidson College. A retired Presbyterian minister, he had served Thompson Valley and Liberty Hill Presbyterian in Tazewell, Va., Portland Avenue Presbyterian in Louisville, Ky., United Presbyterian in Lebanon. Ky.. First Presbyterian of York, First Presbyterian of Rome. Ga., and First Presbyterian of Greenwood. He had served as interim pastor at First Presbyterian in Florence, Westminister Presbyterian in Lynchburg. Va and as associate pastor of First Presbyterian in Greenville. He served as Moderator at Bethel. Cherokee, Ga., South Carolina and the Synod of the Southeast. He also served on the Board of Trustees of Mountain Retreat Association in Montreal, N.C.. Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Ala., Presbyterian Homes of S.C. and Queens College in Charlotte, N.C. He served as chairman of the Hospital Chaplaincy program in Greenwood, was founder of the Human Relations Council ' in Greenwood, and served on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Greenwood County. He was president of the Greenwood Kiwanis Club in 1980, and was on the Pastoral Advisor Committee of the S.C. Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse. Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters. Barbara Boyd Gaw of Black Mountain. N.C. and Letitia Jane Mclntyre of Fredericksburg, Va.; a son, Robert Cromwell Gaw of Winder, Ga.; a sister, Jane Gaw Ragland of Chapel Hill. N.C; a brother. John Goodwin Gaw of Launnburg. N.C; five grandchildren. Memorial services will be conducted at 1 1 :30 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church of Greenville by Dr. Randolph Kowalski. The family will receive immediately following the service in the church parlor. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 200 W. Washington St., Greenville.
