- Alvana Kathryn McDaniel, born May 18, 1917 in Shattuck, OK went to be with the Lord September 26, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E.L. “Lo” McDaniel, parents, Kathryn and John Wassenmiller; brother, A.J. Wassenmiller; sisters, Ophelia Nobles and Ottilie Wassenmiller; daughter-in-law, Marylou McDaniel. She leaves her daughter, Anne McDaniel McCarver; son, Dale McDaniel (Diane); son-in-law, Tim McCarver; five granddaughters, Kathy McCarver Root, Kelly McCarver, Katie McDaniel Hughes (Ryan), Bebe McDaniel Wilder (Keith), Meg McDaniel Ford (Brian); 10 great-grandchildren, Beau and Leigh Root; Porter, Will and Duncan Blue Hughes; Emma Kate, Anna and Daniel Wilder; Maley and Buck Ford.
Alvana was always well-loved, even as a young lady when she was crowned Miss Shattuck in 1935. She married Lo in 1936 and moved to Rosemark where she was an active member of Richland ARP Church for over 80 years, a volunteer Pink Lady, church Circle hostess and dear friend to many. She was a devoted wife, avid cook, and beloved grandmother who was full of love, life and always had a listening ear.
The family will receive friends Friday (Sep 29) from 1:00pm until the service at 3:00pm at Richland ARP Church in Rosemark. Interment to follow in Rosemark Cemetery. Any memorials may be made to Richland ARP Church, 8658 Rosemark Rd, Millington, TN 38053 and specify for the cemetery or church.
