Mrs. Dwight Flanegan received word Friday of the sudden death of her brother, Ward Kleinschmidt, who suffered a heart attack and passed away Tuesday afternoon at the St. Lukes hospital in Davenport.
Funeral service was held at 10:30 Friday morning in the McGinnis Funeral home in Davenport, conducted by the Rev. Clinton B. Neininger, pastor of the Christian church there and burial was in the Memorial cemetery.
Mr Kleinschmidt was born October 1, 1912, near What Cheer, the son of Frank Kleinschmidt and Nellie Carson Kleinschmidt. His early life was spent in the Sigourney and Lancaster communities. He was a member of the Lancaster Christian church.
For the past ten years Mr. Kleinschmidt was supervisor of the Eagle Markets in Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his father, who died during World War I during the influenza epidemic, his step father, Joe Kleinschmidt, who passed away in 1932 and his mother who died in 1954.
He is survived by his wife; two sisters, Mrs. August Steinhart of Delta and Mrs. Dwight Flanegan of Sigourney, a brother, Harold Kleinschmidt, of Durham, North Carolina, and several nieces and nephews. [2]
