Obituary
Mrs. Lorraine M. (Cormier) Henrickson, 90 years of Swampscott, died Sunday , October 30, 2011 in a local nursing home after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Edward O. Henrickson. She was born in Shediac, New Brunswick, the daughter of the late Edmond and Edmee (Landry) Cormier. She was raised in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School. She moved to Swampscott in 1948.
Mrs. Henrickson worked for the former J.B. Blood Company in Lynn and last worked in 1943; she would enjoy telling people she was retired since 1943. She traveled throughout the country with her husband who was a jet pioneer for General Electric. She was a volunteer at Christ Child Nursery and North Shore Children's Hospital. Mrs. Henrickson was a devoted New England sports fan, loved to bowl, and enjoyed crossword puzzles. She was a Brownie Scout leader for many years. Mrs. Henrickson was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church for 63 years. She was a member of St. John's Ladies Sodality and a past president of St. John's School PTA. Mrs. Henrickson was the secretary of the Lafayette Nursing Home resident's council.
Mrs. Henrickson is survived by her daughter Susan B. Frary and her husband Kevin S. of Marblehead, her grandchildren K. Scott Frary and his wife Cheryl of Swampscott, Amy Lucia and her husband Jeffrey of North Reading. She was "Gram the Great" to Jolie and Ryan Frary, Abigayle, Matilda and Jeffrey Lucia. She is the sister of Tilmon Cormier of West Peabody, Phyllis Johnson of Marblehead, Delina Wendell of Salem and the late Val Cormier. She is the sister in law of Carl Ernest Henrickson and his wife Esther of Lexington, KY. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, and many friends, including the devoted staff at the Lafayette Nursing Home.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 10:00 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 147 Humphrey Street, Swampscott . Burial in Swampscott Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are at St. John's Church from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, prior to the funeral mass. Arrangements are by the SOLIMINE, LANDERGAN AND RICHARDSON FUNERAL HOME, Lynn. At Mrs. Henrickson's request, donations may be made in memory of her husband, who had Parkinson 's disease, to the American Parkinson's Disease Association, Massachusetts Chapter, 72 East Concord Street, Boston, MA 02118 [2]
