- EATON, Doris Jean Doris Jean Eaton, 79, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Monday, July 27, 2015, at her home in Mesquite,Texas. Doris was born on August 13, 1935 to Gene and Hazel Stewart in Corsicana, Texas. She graduated from Corsicana High School in 1953. She went on to study at Scott & White in Temple and became a registered nurse. Doris married Nathan A. Eaton of Kerens, the love of her life for 59 years, on June 23, 1956. After working as a nurse in several hospitals, Doris became the school nurse at North Mesquite High School. It was here that she discovered her true calling. Students who worked for her and came through the clinic grew to love and respect her. She was a mom, friend, counselor and confidant. She retired from school nursing in 1995. Doris was an active member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church and Texas Retired Teachers Association. She and Nathan greatly enjoyed traveling in their retired years. Her passion after retiring was genealogy. She made many friends on Ancestry.com and loved researching family history. Doris is survived by her husband, Nathan, and her children: Nathan Eaton Jr. and his wife Linda, Donna Eaton and her spouse Tina Smith, Dana Eaton and his wife Christie, and Mark Eaton and his wife Johnna. Doris is also survived by grandchildren Josh Eaton and his wife Jess, Brian Eaton and his wife Amber, Chris Eaton and his wife Katie, Emily, Lauren, Matthew, Whitney and Jacob, along with great-grand children Kaili, Jackson, Olivia and Harper. Memorial services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2015, at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 6550 Samuell Blvd., Dallas 75228. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Eastminster Presbyterian Church
