- CHARLES FRANKLIN LAWRENCE passed away at the age of 79 at home in Houston, TX, USA on Sunday, February 3, 2008. Charlie was born on April 7, 1928 in Edinburg, TX, USA. After graduating high school in 1946 in San Antonio, he attended college for two years and then joined the Navy. During his service, he was a fighter pilot and fought in the Korean War. After leaving the Navy in 1951, he attended the University of Houston and graduated in 1953 with a BA. During his life he worked in real estate, was a contractor and later started a lock company. He was preceded in death by his parents Evelyn Wilson Lawrence and Arden Lawrence; his brother, Jim Lawrence; and brother and sister-in-law Arden and Gertrude Lawrence. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Cheri and Marvin Migura and Lauralee and Danny Smith; grandchildren, Philip and Jack Smith; sister-in-law, Claire Lawrence; and nieces and nephews, Chris Hughes and husband Charles, Tom Lawrence and wife Theresa, Ward Lawrence and wife Linda and Dene Nichols and husband Mark; and two great nephews and one great niece. The family would like to extend their most grateful thanks to all of his wonderful friends who were so kind and giving to him through the years. There was a private memorial service for the immediate family and he will be buried at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Houston.
