Deceased Name: Clarence L. Martin
MARTIN Clarence L. Martin, age 76, passed away at the Norman Regional Hospital Saturday, July 1, 2000. Rosary services will be at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, 2000 at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Norman with Father Ed Manasco officiating. The funeral mass will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2000 at St. Joseph's. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Edmond under the direction of Mayes Funeral Directors. Clarence was born July 17, 1923 in Oklahoma City to Charles Leslie andMable Martin. He had lived in Norman since 1973, moving here from Wichita Falls, Texas. He graduated from Classen High School in Oklahoma City in 1941. He then served in the United States Air Force during World II and again in Korea. He was a pilot and was shot down in Belgium. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal and a Purple Heart. He was united in marriage to Jene Laverly in 1950 in Oklahoma City. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Architectural Enginering from the Universityof Oklahoma in 1950 and later his Master's in Architectural Design. He taught Construction Management at OSU and also taught at the University of Oklahoma. He is survived by: his wife Jene of the home in Norman; three children, Christian and his wife Tracy of Oklahoma City, Stacey Martin of Norman, Sean Danaher of Norman; three grandchildren, Christian Martin, Elizabeth and John Danaher. He was preceded in death by his parents & a brother, Jack Larry Martin.
