• Notes

  Was Chief of the Western district of the Choctaw Nation from 1822 - 1830, when he became Principal Chief of the entire Choctaw nation. After the Indian Removal in 1831, he remained in Mississippi and became a US citizen. He served as a state representative and senator in Mississippi. He was a respective member of high society. During the Civil War he remained loyal to the Union and as a result lost most of his property [1]
