- Dwight A. "Robbie" Robinson, 79, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, died Sunday, May 7, 2006 at home.
Mr. Robinson was born November 15, 1926 in Lincoln County, Arkansas to the late Willie Lee Robinson and Ora Boyd Robinson.
He was reared and received his early education in Lincoln County, Arkansas, graduating from Star City High School. Mr. Robinson served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Dwight married Margaret Pauline Browning November 14, 1973 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
Mr. Robinson worked for the Cotton Belt Railroad for over 40 years, retiring as a lead railway car man in 1988.
He was a member of Carr United Methodist Church, where he served on the Board of Trustees and as a member of the Chancel Choir since 1949. Mr. Robinson was also a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen.. He taught basket weaving at the Shepherd Center.
Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by a brother, Lawson C. Robinson.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Pauline "Polly" Browning Robinson of Pine Bluff; son, Richard L. Ranniger of Fayetteville, Arkansas; daughter, Ruth Johnston of Hensley, Arkansas; 4 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, May 8, 2006 from 6-8 PM at Ralph Robinson & Son.
Services will be held at Ralph Robinson & Son, Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at 1:30 PM with Reverend Arlis Thrasher, Reverend Terry Newman and Reverend Mary Susan Hilliard officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain Home Cemetery by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.
