Mrs. E.C. Goodman departed this life Jan 10th 1914 and was buried Jan. 12th at Shady Grove. Many sad friends gathered to bid her farewell here who hope to live as she lived and meet her in the sweet by and by.

She was born in 1861 and was married to J.S. Goodman in 1889. They have no children, but have reared an orphan girl. Mrs. Goodman leaves two brothers, J.P. and W.T. Davis, and two sisters, Mrs. E.J. Carter, of Little Rock, and Mrs. Beard, of Warren and her husband who to the last did all they could to stay the ravages of that dreaded disease, consumption. Hoping to meet again we sorrow not as those who have no hope. [2]
