  Commercial Appeal, The (Memphis, TN, USA) - January 19, 2005 Deceased Name: Covington - Jane Butler Simonton Covington - Jane Butler Simonton, 75, retired teacher for Tipton County Schools, died Monday at her home. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. today at First Presbyterian Church, where she was a member and choir director, with burial in R.H. Munford Cemetery. Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home has charge. She was a former director of Covington Goodfellows. Mrs. Simonton, the wife of Bill Simonton, also leaves a daughter, Gail Simonton of Alexandria, Va.; a son, Kevin Simonton of Cordova, and a granddaughter. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Habitat for Humanity, Tipton County Library or a charity of the donor's choice. Mrs. Simonton, 75, was a retired Tipton County school teacher and former director of Covington Goodfellows. She was a graduate of Canton Lehman High School, Centre College and Memphis State. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was the choir director. Memorial services were held Jan. 19 at First Presbyterian Church with Jeff Coker officiating. Burial was in R. H. Munford Cemetery. Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangement. Survivors include her spouse, Bill Simonton; a son, Kevin Simonton of Cordova; a daughter, Gail Simonton of Alexandria, Va.; and a granddaughter.
