  All children of John and Margaret Strong Simonton remained in South Carolina, except Robert and William who came to Tennessee in 1829 in and bought 700 acres in Tipton County, lying just north of the Shelby County line (Robert's part is now owned by John Simonton Lucado, his great-great-grandson). Robert and William Simonton and John Thompson were the first to travel the new road from Covington to Shelby County line in 1829.
