Deceased Name: RICHARD LEWIS CARRINGTON
RICHARD LEWIS CARRINGTON, of Collierville, died April 13, 2010 at the Mayo Clinic from complications of heart disease. Born in Collierville on February 12, 1930, he was a lifelong resident of Collierville, a graduate of Collierville High School, and a graduate of the University of Mississippi where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He served in the U.S. Air force during the Korean War. He was one of nine children of Cora Lumsden Carrington and Vance Moffatt Carrington, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara. Survivors include his former wife, Lorine Padgett, who lovingly cared for him during his illness; a sister, Elizabeth Carrington Kelsey; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Collierville United Methodist Church on the Square, with visitation one hour prior from 9:00 to 10:00. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
