Jewel B. Lolley, 88, retired director of the Oktibbeha County American Red Cross, died Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Visitation is 1:30-2:30 p.m. Saturday at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville. Graveside services are 3 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Gardens Park with Rev. Prentiss Gordon and Rev. Roger Puhr officiating.
She was born in Pine Bluff, Ark. She was lovingly known as "Dran" to her family. She owned and operated Mrs. Lolley's Nursery School for many years, and is still loved and remembered by many of those who attended. It was one of the first licensed nurseries in Starkville. She was for many years the Director of the City of Starkville Youth Center.
Survivors include: daughter, Lana Lolley Bahnsen and husband Peter of Sequim, Wash.; son, William (Bill) Lolley and wife Bette of Brandon; sister, Helene B. Johnson of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; grandchildren, Alicia Scales Dippary and sonny, Julia Scales Carle and John, Stephen Haughton Lolley and Heather, and Lara Elizabeth Lolley; and great-grandchildren, Celeste Carle, Katie Lolley, Hannah Lolley and Logan Lolley.
